English 4 experience

Imagen
When I was at school I won, because of my great marks, a free semester in the British Institute of Santiago, and there the whole class was in english. I have never  spoken that much english in my life, but it really helped me a lot to improve. When I walked on the street I couldn't avoid to translate everyting  I saw, the transit posters and publicity. Now the same thing happened to me. I feel I have perfected my english vocabulary especially through the blog. I don't know if I'm nerd, because english is something that I've always liked, but write posts was what I like to do most in this class, and I really take it seriously. In fact, I had the opportunity to do the interview at Torre 15, but I was very busy at that time and I was afraid to fail because I didn't feel ready to talk fluidly and to improvise, and I guess it was a good choise to stay in the course and finish it. Maybe my interest on english is because it's the universal language, and I think i...

About my carreer

Imagen
I'm almost on my 4th year of university and I feel time has flown by... Now I think I have a broad range of alternatives from where I can choose what I like and what I don't like. All for decide what I'm going to do when I finish my carreer. Altough my generation was the last one with the old curriculum, there are subjects that I would have liked to change or to do in a different way. First of all, I would have liked to have had history subjects...At least one hahaha altough it sounds weird, we don't have any chilean history subjects, even when being a journalist have a lot of actual life, therefor you have to know with details what happened the previous years to bere where we are now. And that's the history. As society, we are living in an age where technology is essential to survive, and as communicators I guess our subjects would be acord to that, so I really would like to deepen on computer programs that maybe I've learned quickly but that I've for...

Summer holidays are coming

Imagen
For this summer, I just expect to travel a lot. The only problem is I don't have any idea where I'll go. The only thing I'm sure of, is that I'm going to my scout camp on january 7 (and I'll have the crazy "first days" I had told you on my last post), and I'll be back to Santiago on january 20. This year is the first time we are going a little far away than the others summer camps: to Coñaripe, at Los Rios region. Then, I hope my mother surprised me and my brothers with a travel where I don't have to spend my money, because I'm saving it for a journey with my boyfriend. Last year, me and my family went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil so I would like to go to a paradise place like that, looking for relax. But maybe I would be asking my mom a lot... hahaha The last thing I will do on holidays is travel with my boyfriend Polo. This year we would like to go "backpacking" from Santiago to Chiloé, making stops along the way. Already in Chiloé...

PARTY IN THE NATURE

Imagen
The best party I've ever had was "the first days before camp" in 2016. I'm part of a scout group and every january we have our traditional Summer Camp at chilean south. But 3 days before all the childs arrive to the place, the "guides" and the over 18 persons go to the site to clean it and build a dump and wooden bathrooms, but also to have THE BEST PARTY OF THE YEAR! Maybe you think it's irresponsible and risky because there is a huge river next to us and most of time we are drinking alcohol and smoking things, but we never have had any problems in those days, and when the rest of the group arrive, we are sober and ready to do camp activities. "The fist days" (that's how we called) of 2016 were my favorites. The journey started in Central Station, where we took the bus to San Fabian de Alico, and then we had to take another bus to the camp place. In the second bus the party started... we took the beers and the melon with wine. Alread...

A confuse future

Imagen
As a future journalist, I consider really important the communication in their different platforms, specially the visual and audiovisual area and not just because I think it's interesting, but also cause I come throw a school that empowers your artistic capacities. According to my interests, in the future I would consider taking a photography professional class, probably here in Chile, but if I had the possibility (and the money) I would love to try to get to know another place in the world in order to mix my learning with different cultures and people. I have been thinking in Spain,  for its recognized qualities in journalism and audiovisual- It's also important to mention that on a past post in my blog, I had told you I'm interested in culture and spreading the arts to the people, so I really would like to take a Cultural Management Major here in ICEI. That would help me to make real my dream job. All of this disciplines would be for complement my profession as...

My dream job

Imagen
When I left the school I was very young and I'm not sure if I was prepared to take the difficult decision to decide: What am I going to do with the rest of my life? So, based in I used to love writing and reading, and because I knew I had an outgoing personality, I chose to study journalism, and I'm not regret about that. But now, thinking what other thing I would like to dedicate the rest of my life to, I would be a professional dancer. Since I have 8 years old, I've danced in the Contemporary Dance Group of my school (now with the ex-students) and it's something I really love to do...working with my body and discovering my limits. If I was a dancer, I would travel around the world with a professional Dance Company. But now, coming back to reality,  I just think in "work the dance" from my area as a journalist, and I would love to work in a culture center like Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM), creating culture for the people, like dance, theater or...

Lenny the pug

Imagen
Since one year and a half, my family and I have a dog. He has been my second pet after my turtle and his name is Lenny. He is a black pug... Yes, I know: THEY ARE SO ADORABLE! They have a really special personality, althought they have serious health problems, but in my case my dog is good, he is well behaved and we love him. My little sister has been always a fan of dogs. Every birthday she asked for one, but my mom told her "It is the dog or me, not both of us". Until one christmas, my sister's fathers convinced her to have one, and Lenny came to our lives to stay. Pugs are a chinese breed of dog very known for their small and compact size and their wrinkled faces. These dogs are perfect for live in apartments because they are easy to tired when they run. They are very sweet with the persons who take care of them. My pug, for example, is always at the side of whoever moves in the house, like when my mom made beakfast at 6 o'clock, or when my sister goes to the b...

LORDE

Imagen
I’m not sure about who’s my favorite artist in the world, but I think one of my favorites is LORDE. She is a New Zealand singer and writer who was born the same year that I was born (1996), and she got famous really young, with only 17 years old. She sings pop music, with a little of electro and indie-rock, and her voice is gorgeous. “Royals”, her most famous hit made her the youngest artist to win a Grammy Award in 2014. Personally, I think that’s her most commercial song and I prefer her underground music, especially the firsts of her career. What I most like about Lorde are the lyrics of her songs. Lorde’s mother is poet, and Lorde always says in the interviews that she is the person who most has inspired her to write her own lyrics. They talk about her painful love life, the youth and the normal life of people like her or like me… Well, now that she is so famous, I think we have very different lifes, but not that much 3 years ago. In July, Lorde made her new a...

BEST HOLIDAYS EVER

Imagen
I guess the best holidays I've ever had happened this summer because I really did a lot of different things. In January I went to the south of Chile, specifically San Fabián de Alico for 10 days with the scout group where I belong. I'm leader of the little girls named "swallows"and I have so much fun with them. At the summer camp, we used to go to the river, play games and climb hills. When I came back to Santiago I had only 2 days to rest, because me and my family had air tickets to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. So we went for 5 days and we felt in love with the city...the beaches and its warm water and the hills with the favelas are unforgettable. The most beautiful place we visited was the Botanic Garden of Rio, a enormous park full of wild nature and monkeys jumping side to side. Finally, back to Chile, me and my boyfriend took a bus to Temuco, and another bus to Conguillio, a national park known for its volcano, the "Llaima" and its millennials a...

INDIA

Imagen
If I had to choose a place to visit among all the countries around the world, probably I would go to India. First of all, because I'm a huge fan of yoga. I practice that discipline 3 times a week and I know India is the biggest center of yoga on earth planet.  Also, I think it's a place with a lot of history and a gorgeous architecture. Of course, I would visit the famous palace Taj Mahal, which is a World Heritage declared by the UNESCO.  I would love to go to some artisans market but I'm afraid about the size of them. I know India is the second most populous country in the world after China, so it scares me to get lost. Altough, I don't know anything about the Hindi language, the idiom of Indian people. Anyway, I would explore some of the many religions they have, especially Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism, so I would visit the most important temples. It would go on a spiritual trip.
